DANILO O. CORTINA Mr. Cortina was born in Manila on March 17, 1962. He graduated from De La Salle University in 1982 with a degree in Business Management and finished his law studies at the Ateneo de Manila University in 1987. He was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 1988. Thereafter, he joined Quasha Ancheta Peña & Nolasco, one of the Philippines’ oldest law firms where he had 10 years of extensive practice. He became partner of the firm in 1998.
He is the immediate Past President of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (Makati Chapter), an association of lawyers with more than 2,500 members. He held other positions (Director, Treasurer & Vice President) prior to becoming its President. He also served as a Trustee of the Makati Law Foundation, a non-stock, non-profit organization geared towards assisting the Makati courts in the speedy administration of justice.
Mr. Cortina serves as Director and/or officer of several corporations. For instance, he is the Director for Corporate and Legal Services of CB Richard Ellis Philippines, Inc., a global real estate services firm.
His practice areas include Foreign Investments, Mergers and Acquisitions, Corporations & Businesses, Fund Management & Investments, Immigration, Environment & Natural Resources, Mining, Communications, Tax, Civil & Commercial Litigation, Bankruptcy and Patents & Trademarks.
JUAN ORENDAIN P. BUTED Mr. Buted was born in Quezon City on February 23, 1962. He finished his undergraduate studies at the University of the Philippines with a degree in A.B. English (Imaginative Writing). He graduated from the University of the Philippines College of Law in 1989 and was admitted to the Philippine Bar the following year.
He worked at the law firm of Quasha Ancheta Peña & Nolasco for almost eight (8) years. He moved to Filinvest Land, Inc., one of the Philippines’ biggest real estate developers in 1996 where he served as Corporate Legal Counsel and rendered various legal services for the Corporation’s affiliates and subsidiaries, including Filinvest Development Corporation, Filinvest Alabang, Inc., Festival Supermall, Inc., and the East West Banking Corporation.
Mr. Buted served in the faculty of the College of St. Benilde – De La Salle University where he taught Commercial Law (Obligations and Contracts, Sales, Negotiable Instruments, Partnerships and Corporations), and Business Communications.
He is a member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines and served as Chairman of the Publications Committee (Makati Chapter) in 1996. He also served as Trustee of the Makati Law Foundation in 1995 and is a member of the Philippine Bar Association. His civic-activities include his membership in the Rotary Club (Makati Dasmariñas Chapter) where he was cited as Most Outstanding Rotarian. He was elected President for the Rotary Year 2003-2004 and has since been holding key positions in Rotary District 3830. He is also Past President of U.P. High ’79 Alumni Association and currently a Director of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines- Makati Chapter.
